A man in UAE is awaiting an appeal ruling against a conviction that he had an illicit sexual relationship with a 28-year-old Chinese woman, who, according to an eyewitness, was found walking naked in the city.

The employee is now facing a three-month jail term by the Court on the charge of having an illicit sexual relationship with the woman, whom he accused of maliciously implicating him. The woman claimed to investigators that she had sex with him after he had promised to help her in another case.
The defense lawyer on behalf of the government employee argued at the Court of Appeals for his client’s innocence, saying his client’s only contacts with the woman happened during interrogation. The woman had been arrested in December last year and had her passport then seized pending the legal procedure. She had been referred to Bur Dubai police station after she was caught holding a placard at a mall in which she was expressing a sort of objection to her country’s government.
