Hyderabad: The shocking video from Telangana shows a young woman being beaten brutally by a man, who has been identified as a youth leader from the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi. The women is his second wife, named Sangeetha Reddy.
The widely circulated video shows, Sreenivasa Reddy, youth leader of Telangana Rashtra Samithi is beating the woman brutally. He dragged her by the hair and throws her on the floor. Several others are standing there but no one tries to help her. One woman was dragging Sangeetha and she was slammed against the door. Sangeetha’s brother and another person took the video also assaulted by Sreenivasa Reddy. The issue is based on their marital discord.
The youth leader, a resident of Hyderabad’s Boduppal area, had married Sangeetha in 2011. The couple has a two-year-old daughter. In the video, Sangeetha ‘s mother is seen holding the baby
The incident is said to have taken place on Sunday when the TRS leader’s first wife along with her family protested outside his house over him marrying another woman. His first wife alleged that he had remarried without divorce and demanded justice.
The leader identified as Srinivas Reddy has been arrested for attempt to murder and criminal intimidation after the wife’s family filed a complaint against him. Sangeetha Reddy had earlier filed a complaint with the police, saying she was being harassed for dowry and that her in-laws were unhappy that she had given birth to a daughter.
