Ajay Bhushan Pandey, the CEO of Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) said that 500 missing children have been traced over the last few months through Aadhaar.
The claims are made while addressing a session at the Global Conference on Cyberspace (GCCS) 2017. He also said that the classic script of Bollywood films about siblings separated and reuniting after decades can re-shooted to show the possibility with Aadhaar.
According to CRY (Child Rights and You), an NGO working for child rights, the number of children who went missing and remain un-traced across the country increased by about 84 percent between 2013 and 2015.
