Indian Army cracked down on fake messages being spread on social medias….
The Indian Army has heavily cracked down against fake messages and hoaxes that are being spread against the Army on social media platforms and messaging services such as WhatsApp.
Over 100 Army personnel, including officers, JCOs and other ranks officials are under investigation for misconduct and violation of social media rules. Most of these probes are almost reaching finality.
Central security agencies have been also been requested to give assistance in cracking down on such cases.
All armed forces personnel who violate social media rules will be punished exemplarily as per military rules, officials said.
Comprehensive and intimate monitoring is being ensured, any a times armed forces personnel do & act casually thus becoming victim of misinformation campaign & inimical agencies, the officials added.
