This is how Miss World Manushi Chiller compared the profession of a Doctor and a Miss World….
Manushi Chhillar is an Indian model and beauty pageant title holder who was crowned Miss World 2017. She was previously crowned Femina Miss India 2017 on 25 June 2017. Chhillar is the sixth Indian woman to win Miss World, and the first since Priyanka Chopra won Miss World 2000.
Manushi Chhillar compares between the profession of a doctor and a beauty queen as she addressed media in the capital yesterday. “They both want to make the world better for everyone,” she said.
Enumerating her intent to bring about social change, the 20-year-old pageant winner said she will use the Miss World platform to spread awareness about menstrual hygiene in India. “My project for menstrual hygiene is about empowering girls.” A girl’s menstrual cycle should not hinder her confidence, she added.
The winning answer that sealed Manushi’s fate at the Miss World 2017 pageant was driven by her love for her mother Dr Neelam Chhillar. “My mother is my first role model. We have lived every dream together. The way she has balanced everything in life makes me want to be like her,” she said at the conference.
“I’ve always looked up to Dr Reita Faria, the first Asian to win the Miss World crown. Despite many offers from the glamour industry, she followed her passion and went on to become a gynaecologist.”She added.
With everyone acknowledging the big win, Manushi’s elder sister Dewangana and younger brother Dalmitra, who were also present with her in Delhi, shared their joy and pride with The Times of India and spoke about Manushi’s journey to victory. “She works with great determination and knows how to balance things,” said Dewangana.
