These are the big banner bollywood films that flops in Boxoffice 2017…

Bollywood is a big industry with so many films coming out every week, one after the other. Some are backed by big production houses, bigger stars and some are made by independent filmmakers and lesser known stars.

However, its not always possible that the movie with the biggest investment rakes great moolah at the box office. Content plays a very important role and perhaps that is one reason 2017 saw so many flops!

Simran

There were a lot of expectations with Simran, directed by Hansal Mehta. It was hyped up as the sequel to Queen but it fell short. It could only manage to do decent collection at the box office.

Sarkar 3

The third part of the Sarkar series was made by Ram Gopal Verma and produced on a large scale but the film has a very dull opening. Despite having big stars, there was no buzz around the film.

Qaidi Band

Made under the YRF Banner, Qaidi Band launched two debutantes, inlcuding starkid Aadar Jain but the movie was not even worth remembering. Sadly, even Lucknow Central, which had a very similar storyline could not do well.

Noor

When the trailer for Noor was launched, everybody thought it was going to be the big breakthrough film for Sonakshi Sinha but sadly, there wasn’t a strong enough base for the film. It performed very dismally at the box office.

Meri Pyaari Bindu

The movie, which starred Parineeti Chopra and Ayushmann Khurrana was produced under the Yash Raj banner. It met with less than positive reviews and hence, failed to mint money.

Jagga Jasoos

The film took many years in the making but the efforts could not duplicate on the big screen. The film might have been critically praised but for the audiences, it was a big bore.

Haseena- The Queen Of Mumbai

A biography based on Haseena Parker, the crime film couldn’t engage audiences and hence, failed to deliver. This could have been the highlight of Shradhha Kapoor’s career but it failed badly.

Jab Harry Met Sejal

One of the biggest disasters in 2017, there were so many things that went wrong with the film. Given the big names attached to the film, it was panned really badly.

Chef

 

The remake of Hollywood film of the same name, Chef received a lot of praises especially for Saif Ali Khan but still, the movie failed to make money at the box office.

Bhoomi

Made by Omung Kumar and starring Sanjay Dutt and Aditi Rao Hydari, the drama wasn’t engaging enough to make a mark.

Bank Chor

Again a YRF banner film, Bank Chor wasn’t promising enough to be considered successful at the box office.It failed badly.
