The Crime Branch has registered a non-bailable case against actor and Rajya Sabha MP for producing fake documents to evade road tax. The case has been filed against Suresh Gopi for registering his vehicle in Puducherry with a fake address. He has also been charged with not paying fine for overspeeding.
The Crime Branch has found that the state exchequer suffered losses due to the registration of Suresh Gopi’s car in Puducherry using a fake address.Even though Suresh Gopi provided documents to the Motor Vehicles Department after the Mathrubhumi News report, the authorities the other day informed that it was not satisfactory.
Suresh Gopi had registered two vehicles in Puducherry. The actor registered the vehicles by providing the address Ellaipillaichavady, Karthik Apartment 3-CA.
However, It was found that there was no such apartment in this name at the place. The Crime Branch estimates that the state suffered a loss to the tune of Rs 40 lakh due to this. This is the first time in Kerala that a case for evading tax is being registered against a Rajya Sabha MP.
