36,000 Government jobs to be filled soon via UPSC : Here’s the details
The services department of central government is gearing up to fill up the vacant posts in various departments including autonomous bodies and agencies.
The services department, that comes under Baijal, deals with service matters of IAS officers of Delhi government, DANI Civil Service officers and the ones belonging to Delhi Administration Subordinate Services cadre and stenographers carde.
Following the directions of Baijal, the services department has outlined a plan of action and has issued memorandums to heads of all departments, who are notified about the action plan to fill vacant posts under both direct and promotional quota of their respective departments in a time-bound manner.
The memorandum states that “Wherever the process of direct recruitment is held up due to the reason of non-availability/pendency of amendment of recruitment rules, the department should complete the process of framing/amendment of recruitment rules and issue the notification on or before December 31,” as per a report .
It further stated that those cases where UPSC consultation is required, the notification should be issued on or before March 31 next year. In order to speed up the recruitment process, the memorandum urged the concerned departments to review the pending court cases in a regular manner.
The instructions have been issued on the direction of L-G. These vacancies should be filled up on the basis of seniority, irrespective of the category i.e. General/SC/ST. It also stated, “The department should also mention in the promotion orders that the present promotion is subject to the final outcome of the pending cases in the Supreme Court of India and the decisions of GoI (Government of India) in this regard,” it was stated.
The move came after Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal wrote to Baijal about 36,000 vacancies across departments and institutions of the Delhi government. He had said that he can’t do anything about it due to lack of control over “services department.”
