Akshay Kumar has kicked off the film’s second schedule in Mumbai after finishing the England schedule of Reema Kagti’s upcoming sports-drama‘Gold’. Akshay Kumar was spotted at a famous cricket ground in Wadala shooting a sequence for the movie.
Reportedly, the ground was surrounded by 20 bouncers and a dozen security guards to ensure that filming goes without a hitch. The shooting began early in the morning and went on till evening. Akshay was reportedly filming a rain sequence. In the leaked pictures we can see the 50-year-old actor donning a white dhoti over a black overcoat.
‘Gold’ is a biopic based on the life of Indian hockey player Balbir Singh. Balbir was the part of the team that led India to victory at 1948 London Olympics. It is said the movie won’t just focus on Akshay’s character but also other characters played by Kunal Kapoor, Amit Sadh, Sunny Kaushal and debutant Mouni Roy. The television actress plays Akshay’s romantic interest in the movie.
As for character preparation, Akshay has been learning Bengali from a language coach. He is also being trained to adopt traditional Bengali mannerisms. Apart from that, the co-stars are improving their hockey skills under the former captain of the Indian Hockey team, Sandeep Singh.
The first look of the movie was unveiled by Akshay Kumar. He uploaded a picture of him donning a mustache and carrying a sling bag. Akshay is seen wearing a chequered pant and waistcoat combo.
He captioned the picture with:

Previously there were reports of shooting being delayed. Reportedly, the movie should have wrapped up by November but due to location issues, it was extended until December. Reema Kagti directed and Akshay Kumar starrer ‘Gold‘is expected to release on August 15, 2018.
