The 23rd edition of the annual film awards show, Star Screen Awards, was held at Mumbai last night. The most deserving films, actors, actresses, directors, producers were rewarded at one of the biggest awards night. Stars such as Salman Khan, Taapsee Pannu, Varun Dhawan and more are expected to perform. Star Screen Awards takes into consideration the films released in December last year to November this year.
If Vidya Balan bagged the Best Actress Award (Popular) for Tumhari Sulu, Rajkummar Rao was named the Best Actor (Critics) for Newton. Along with this, he also won the Best Supporting Actor award for Bareilly Ki Barfi.
Konkana Sen Sharma, on the other hand, won the Best Actress award in the critics’ category for Lipstick Under My Burkha. Irrfan Khan bagged the Best Actor award in the popular category. Arijit Singh won Best Playback Singer(male) for Raees – Zaalima and Jagga Jasoos. Shashaa Tirupati won Best Playback Singer(female) for Kanha – Shubh Mangal Savdhaan
Aamir Khan’s Dangal bagged five awards including Best Director, Best Music Director, Best Editing, Best Lyrics and Best Background Score.
