Gujarat Election 2017 : Here are 5 reasons why PM Narendra Modi-led BJP will win in Gujarat
The election ship of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and party president Amit Shah has reached Gujarat, and which in other words wouldn’t be wrong to say it BJP’s own state as both the Prime Minister of the country and party president are from the same state. Continuing with the winning formula and campaign style of the party in the previous state assembly elections.
The Bharatiya Janata Party is once again banking on the image and credibility of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is still very popular for the style of running the government and his firm stand on taking tough decisions.
Five reasons why the Bharatiya Janata Party will win Gujarat Elections 2017
1. People of Gujarat are loyal to PM Narendra Modi
It doesn’t matter how much the opposition criticises PM Narendra Modi and his policies, the people of Gujarat are not going to forget the development work done by the BJP under the leadership of Narendra Modi during his consecutive 3-term tenure as Chief Minister in the state. Being the home state of PM Modi, it automatically gives him the edge and his party too as there is an emotional connect with the people of Gujarat with PM Modi.
2. Demonetisation and Goods & Services Tax (GST) is not going to affect the party
While the opposition has been trumping up that the post effect of demonetisation and GST will create cracks in the long-running bond between the BJP and people of Gujarat, but the reality on the ground is not speaking the same thing. Taking the example of BJP’s performance in Uttar Pradesh elections, which too happened after the government implemented the note ban, the so-much hyped perception that BJP will have to pay a big price, was invisible. In fact, the party won with a whopping majority. Therefore, if note ban didn’t impact party’s performance then, it’s pretty much clear it won’t even impact in Gujarat too.
Talking about the impact of Goods and Services Tax, also the fact that the traders’ market, businessmen in the state were unhappy with the biggest economic reform was implemented by the BJP, the recent changes in the tax slabs just before the elections and an indication by the party that there may be further changes in the tax slabs to ease of businessmen pain, is working well for the BJP.
3. No one knows the ground reality of Gujarat better than BJP and Amit Shah
Coming from the roots of Gujarat and fully aware of party’s current status in the state, BJP chief Amit Shah is still confident of winning more than 150 seats in these elections. In an exclusive interview with BJP chief to News, he said that his party will win Gujarat elections with a massive majority. He is one who is handling all party operations, therefore, a statement coming from him that BJP will win, itself has credibility.
4. Gujarat election is prestige battle for PM Modi and he won’t let his party lose in the elections
Prime Minister Narendra Modi comes from Gujarat and based on his performance when he was the chief minister, PM Modi’s popularity witnessed a massive increase. Ahead of the 2019 General elections, if BJP loses Gujarat, it won’t be a good thing for the party for 2019 Lok Sabha elections. And this fact is known to everybody in the party, therefore at a time when people are still loyal to PM Modi, BJP is not going to lose the elections.
5. BJP cannot neglect the trend
It’s because of Bharatiya Janata Party’s performance in the Gujarat state, due to which it came to power at the centre and after that, it kept on adding state after state. Gujarat, after seeing BJP’s performance in recent elections, including recently concluded Uttar Pradesh civic polls, it will be hard to believe that PM Modi led BJP will lose Gujarat elections 2017.
