Gujarat Polls 2017 : Software engineers being hired to hack into EVMs, alleges Hardik Patel
Just a day before the declaration of the all-important results to the Gujarat Assembly Elections, Patidar Anamat Andolan Samiti (PAAS) leader Hardik Patel has alleged BJP engineers of hacking into the Electronic Voter Machines used during the dual-phased polling.
Preparations are on to hack 4,000 EVMs in Gujarat with the help of 140 engineers from an Ahmedabad-based company,” alleged Patel on Twitter.
He followed his tweet up by claiming that there had been an attempt to hack EVMs in Visnagar, Radhanpur, Vav, and several Patel-dominated and tribal areas.
He added that ATM hacking was a reality, and therefore, EVM tampering was not that improbable.
This is not the first time Patel has raised such concerns. On Friday, he used multiple tweets to warn people to remain alert to prevent the BJP from indulging in malpractices.
“If the BJP loses the Gujarat polls, it will be the party’s nemesis. BJP can win Gujarat election only through EVM tampering; it will win Gujarat and lose Himachal Pradesh so that no doubts are raised,” he had written.
