After the Gujarat election, First time Congress President Rahul Gandhi will visit Gujarat today.He begins with Somnath temple.
Gandhi will meet all the newly-elected legislatures and party workers from across the state to review the election results. He will meet leaders from North, Central, Saurashtra and South Zone during the day before heading to the Gujarat University Convention Hall at GNBC ground in Ahmedabad where a party workers’ meet has been arranged.
“Rahul ji will also address party workers at GU Convention Hall. He is expected to appreciate the workers’ efforts in the elections, and exhort them to start working for the 2019 Lok Sabha elections,” said a Congress official.
Ahead of Gujarat elections, the Congress president spent over 20 days campaigning extensively for his party. The Congress put up a credible performance by winning 77 out of 182 seats, its best performance in the state in the past several elections while restricting the BJP’s tally to 99.
