Bollywood is known for its grand budgets and star-studded parties. Every year, there have been specific occasions where some big parties were held which brought the who’s who of B-town under one roof. The year 2017 was also no exception with a lot of exciting things happening this year to keep the celebs on their toes. So here’s looking back at a few such memorable parties from the year that is about to go by.
Zaheer Khan and Sagarika Ghatge’s engagement party
Actress Sagarika Ghatge got engaged to Zaheer Khan in May and subsequently married him last month. Back when they got engaged, the couple hosted a big bash for many from Bollywood and the sporting world. Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma also made an appearance and their joint appearance became the talk of the town. Also present at the occasion were Rohit Sharma with his wife Ritika, the legendary Sachin Tendulkar with his wife Anjali, Yuvraj Singh, Aakash Ambani, Arshad Warsi, Maria Goretti, Abhishek Kapoor, Pragya Yadav, Raveena Tandon, Bobby Deol, Mandira Bedi among many others.
Karan Johar’s birthday
Bigshot filmmaker and producer Karan Johar had perhaps the biggest celeb birthday bash this year. Almost the entire film industry turned up for the grand party. The super expansive guest list included big names like- Shah Rukh Khan with his son Aryan, Alia Bhatt, Anushka Sharma, Ranbir Kapoor, Akshay Kumar, Twinkle Khanna, Katrina Kaif, Sidharth Malhotra, Deepika Padukone, Arjun Kapoor, Aditya Roy Kapur, Varun Dhawan with alleged girlfriend Natasha Dalal, Hrithik Roshan, Abhishek Bachchan with wife Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Sara Ali Khan and a whole lot more. Anil Kapoor’s Diwali celebration
While many celebs hosted their respective get-togethers for Diwali, Anil Kapoor outdid everyone with a party that was truly something to behold. The veteran actor pulled all stops as a host and gave a grand bash that saw a plethora of B-towners such as Karisma Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Parineeti Chopra, Shahid Kapoor with wife Mira, Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan, Soha Ali Khan and Kunal Kemmu, Varun Dhawan, Arjun Kapoor, Shah Rukh Khan and many others. From the gen-next, Chunky and Bhavana Panday’s daughter, Ananya and Shahid Kapoor’s half-brother Ishaan Khatter were also spotted at the starry evening. Overall, Anil hosted a ‘Jhakaas’ party indeed!
Sanjay Dutt’s Diwali bash
Bollywood is known to celebrate Diwali with gusto and who better to throw a party than Sanjay Dutt and his wife Maanayata. Sanju Baba hosted a grand bash on the occasion of Diwali which was graced by a lot of stars like Salman Khan, Jacqueline Fernandez, Anil Kapoor, Rishi Kapoor with his wife Neetu Kapoor and many others. The show stoppers for the evening turned out to be Shilpa Shetty who came with her hubby Raj Kundra and Sonali Bendre, who dazzled the paparazzi. Other guests included Sonakshi Sinha, R Madhavan, Arpita Khan Sharma with her husband Aayush Sharma, Sussanne Khan, Manish Malhotra, Zayed Khan and Vicky Kaushal. Sanjay was a gracious host and also interacted with the media.
Arpita Khan Sharma’s Diwali bash
Arpita Khan Sharma is known to celebrate all festivals with gusto and Diwali was no exception. She and hubby Aayush Sharma hosted a grand get together that was filled with her family members and industry insiders alike. Present on the star-studded occasion were members of the Khan clan including Salman, Arbaaz, Sohail, Alvira Khan, Helen and Seema Khan. Among friends, many tinseltown actors also made it to the bash such as Katrina Kaif, Karisma Kapoor, Athiya Shetty, Dia Mirza, Shilpa Shetty Kundra, Shah Rukh Khan, Daisy Shah, Dino Morea, Elli AvrRam, Kiara Advani, Huma Qureshi, Sooraj Pancholi and Sophie Choudry among many others. Be it Ganpati celebrations or Diwali, Arpita sure knows how to throw a party.
Shah Rukh Khan’s birthday
Shah Rukh Khan had a really special birthday this year. The actor headed off to his beach house in Alibaug with friends and family. At a private, yet happening, get-together were — wife Gauri Khan and daughter Suhana Khan, good friends Karan Johar and Farah Khan, Shweta Bachchan, Alia Bhatt, Katrina Kaif, Deepika Padukone, Sidharth Malhotra, Shanaya Kapoor and Bhavana Pandey. This was just the tip of the iceberg as King Khan threw a big bash for media later on the in the day and also interacted with fans gathered outside Mannat. SRK’s birthday is no less than a festival and the actor ensured to make everyone happy on his special day.
Deepika Padukone’s impromptu house party
After the trailer of ‘Padmavati’ came out, the actors and makers were ecstatic with the response they received. So Deepika Padukone, who is the leading lady of the magnum opus, threw an impromptu house party. Although it was supposed to be a private gathering, a large number of celebs from B-town turned up on the happy occasion including alleged beau Ranveer Singh, Karan Johar, Sidharth Malhotra, Sonakshi Sinha, Kriti Sanon, Alia Bhatt, Sara Ali Khan, Janhvi Kapoor, Punit Malhotra and Ishan Khatter among others. This definitely has to be the most happening house party of 2017!
Adira Chopra’s birthday
Rani Mukerji and Aditya Chopra’s daughter Adira only turned two, but her birthday has already become one of the talking points around town. The proud parents hosted a really big birthday bash which was attended by a lot of celebs who came to bless the little birthday girl. Present at the happy occasion were Shah Rukh Khan, Vaani Kapoor, Raveena Tandon, Katrina Kaif, Kareena Kapoor Khan with her bundle of joy Taimur, Karan Johar with his twins Yash and Roohi, Shilpa Shetty with her boy Viaan and a whole lot of others. Adira could not have asked for a more special birthday and there are lots more to come in the future.
Aaradhya Bachchan’s birthday
Abhishek and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s little girl Aaradhya turned six on November 20. And just like every year, the Bachchans pulled all stops to make it a memorable day for the little one. The parents organized an enchanted fairytale theme party right at Amitabh’s residence and the guest list for the birthday party was also really envious. Other than the beaming grandparents Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan, the party saw the likes of Shah Rukh Khan with son AbRam Khan, Shilpa Shetty with son Viaan Raj Kundra, Sonali Bendre Behl with son Ranveer Behl, Natasha Poonawalla with son Cyrus Poonawalla, Farah Khan Kunder with triplets Diva, Anya and Czar Kunder, Lara Dutta Bhupathi’s daughter Saira Bhupathi, and Sanjay Dutt’s twins, Iqra and Shahraan Dutt. Overall, the occasion unleashed everyone’s inner child as they celebrated Aaradhya’s big day.
Ambani bash to honour London’s mayor
The Ambani family hosted a grand bash earlier this month to honour the arrival of London’s mayor Sadiq Khan. It was also a star-studded night as the who’s who of the film world made their way to the party. Spotted at the special occasion were celebs like Shah Rukh Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Katrina Kaif, Alia Bhatt, Sachin Tendulkar with wife Anjali, Sridevi and Boney Kapoor, Kabir Khan, Sidharth Malhotra, Neha Dhupia, Karan Johar and the Ambanis themselves of course. Considering the number of VIPs who turned up for the occasion, the London mayor got nothing short of a royal welcome we must say!
