US President Donald Trump comes up with yet another bizarre theory, and now he targets the science-backed global warming theory.He joked that the alarming rise in the Earth’s temperature may bring relief to those reeling under a cold wave on the country’s east coast.
“In the East, it could be the COLDEST New Year’s Eve on record,” the US President tweeted about the record low temperatures in the US’s eastern states, that have even caused a Minnesota waterfall to freeze.
“Perhaps we could use a little bit of that good old Global Warming that our Country, but not other countries, was going to pay TRILLIONS OF DOLLARS to protect against. Bundle up!”, said Trump further, his tone high on the mock-meter.
The US is the world’s second-largest emitter of greenhouse gases, one of the main culprits in causing the Earth’s temperature to rise. Trump believes and has said that global warming is a “hoax perpetrated by the Chinese”. Ergo, he this year pulled the US out of the historic Paris Accord to combat climate change after he ranted against India and China.
“India makes its participation contingent on receiving billions and billions and billions of dollars in foreign aid from developed countries…the bottom line is that the Paris Accord is very unfair, at the highest level, to the United States…compliance with the terms of the Paris Accord and the onerous energy restrictions it has placed on the US could cost America as much as 2.7 million lost jobs by 2025,” he fumed. The job loss numbers are contested even in the US.
