In October, she walked down the aisle with close friend/noted actor Naga Chaitanya and added a new dimension to her life. The lovebirds got married on October 6 as per Hindu customs and gave fans a reason to rejoice. The very next day, the two got married as per Christian traditions in a truly wonderful ceremony. Just days after her marriage, Sam received more good news when ‘Raju Gari Gadhi 2’ opened to a good response at the box office and received rave reviews along the way. Talking about its success, she had said that her character was a tribute to those who suffered because of the infamous ‘Suchi Leaks’ scandal.
“Amrutha’s character is a message to each and every person who opened the ‘Suchi Leaks’ videos, laughed at those videos and circulated them. Whenever Amrutha cries in the film, I did not need glycerine for I could understand the pain of the parents, families and well-wishers of the women in those videos. I played the role of Amrutha for all the women victimized in such a manner,” she had told a leading daily.
Shortly thereafter, she tasted success again with ‘Mersal’. An Atlee directorial, it was an action-drama and saw her share space with superstar Vijay. Also featuring Kajal Aggarwal in the lead, it did exceptionally well at the box office and earned rave reviews along the way. Talking about the film. She had said that he has good command over his craft.
“He has a great command over his craft, and it’s very endearing to see that kind of positivity and confidence. I believe that’s also a reason why someone as experienced as Vijay, who has worked with the biggest of names in the industry, came back to Atlee for a second time (after Theri) because there’s some magic in this man. On a related note, this is a busy time for Sam as well as Naga Chaitanya. Chai is currently shooting for ‘Savyasachi’ which is being directed by Chandoo Mondeti and also has R Madhavan in the lead. In it, the ‘Yuva Samrat’ will be seen playing the role of a man with a disability and romancing actress Niidhhi Agerwal. As far as Sam is concerned, she is currently gearing up for the release of ‘Irumbu Thirai’. A few days ago, she had said that the action-thriller will be the best film of actor Vishal’s career.
“I feel like Vishal is younger than me. Irumbu Thirai will be one his best films, he has given a career-best performance and I am very confident about the success of Irumbu Thirai.Irumbu Thirai doesn’t look like a film from a debutant. I have hardly worked with debutants but PS Mithran did not seem like one. He has already exceeded my expectations and I am very happy to be part of this film, “ she had added.
Besides ‘Irumbu Thirai’, she also has ‘Rangasthalam’ in her kitty. The Sukumar directorial is touted to be a romantic-drama and will see her act opposite Ram Charan for the first time ever. Sometime ago, a source had revealed that Chiranjeevi feels that the film could turn out to be a major hit as it has come out quite well.
