Fire alarm rings in Bengaluru restaurant, families bereaved

After the fire incident in Bombay, now another state faces the same crises. Here are the details of the report.

Five people died when a fire broke out at a bar-cum-restaurant in the vegetable market area in the wee hours of Monday.

According to the police, the blaze broke out at Kailash bar and restaurant in Kalasipalyam, a busy and congested area in the heart of Bengaluru. The outlet is located on the ground floor of the Kumbara Sangha (Potters’ Association) building, near a vegetable market. 

Five people, including a woman, died after a fire broke out at a bar in Bengaluru early this morning. The fire has been brought under control. Those killed were employees at the bar and were sleeping inside when the blaze started.

The deceased have been identified as Swami (23), Prasad (20) and Mahesh (35), all natives of Tumkur; Manjunath (45) a native of Hassan and Keerthi (24) a native of Mandya. The bodies have been taken to the city’s Victoria Hospital for post-mortem. 

Smoke billowing out of the restaurant was noticed by locals at around 2.30am following which fire services were rushed to the spot.

The blaze has been put off. The cause of the fire is unknown and is being investigated, police said.
