Sherin Mathews Death: India banned US adoption agency for negligence

Sherin, who had been adopted by an Indian-American couple in 2016, allegedly choked to death last October while her adoptive father was “physically assisting” her in drinking milk. The couple is in jail.

Now India Government has suspended an American adoption agency for “negligence” in its assessment of the adoptive parents of three-year-old Sherin Mathews who died in the US, government.

The government had written to the Indian embassy in the US, the Central Authority, which is the nodal body for adoptions in the US, and Holt International, informing them about the decision.

The central government has tightened the adoption rules in India. People with US citizens adopt Children Who had Physical disabilities as possible to deprive them of the benefits of different parties. The government will help those Children.

“We have suspended the operations of Holt International because we found it negligent in the assessment of the adoptive parents and also in the post-placement assessment of the family,” CEO, Cara (Child Adoption Resource Authority), Lt Col Deepak Kumar, said.
