Chinese smartphone giant Xiaomi is soon expected to launch a new smartphone in its Redmi 5 series. The new smartphone is named as Xiaomi Redmi Note 5. Although the date has not yet been confirmed by the company, the price of Redmi Note 5 has surfaced online. As per a report by gizmo china, the phone was mentioned month the list of prizes for a contest that the company is hosting on its China MIUI forum. In the forum post, the smartphone has been price tagged at 699 Yuan which means it will be priced at over Rs 6800 in India. However, the report also downplayed the rumour and said that it might be a typographical error and the company might have intended to write Note 5A, which is also priced at 699 Yuan (6824.09 Indian Rupees)
Recently, a new render of the phone made its way online with few differences compared to the earlier image. The new leak showed that the phone’s full-screen display surrounded by very thin bezels, much thinner than what the company had on the Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus. The bottom bezel on the phone is even thinner than that of the Mi MIX 2. It means that the front-facing camera sensor is will be placed on the top bezel along with the speaker. The new smartphone is also expected to sport the dual-camera which will be stacked vertically and will also feature a fingerprint sensor. It this design turns out to be legit, then the Redmi Note 5 will be amongst the mid-range phone with the highest screen-to-body ratio, as per the report.
According to the previous leaks, the phone is expected to feature a 5.99-inch Full HD+ display with 18:9 aspect ratio. It is said to be powered by Qualcomm’s yet announced Snapdragon 632 processor along with 4GB RAM. However, there has been no confirmation that the Redmi Note 5 will be released.
