Three jawans from the army were injured during rehearsals for Army Day parade in New Delhi. The jawans accidentally fell off after a rope slipped off ALH Dhruv helicopter during a rehearsal for Army Day.

According to a report in a national news channel, the jawans were rushed to the hospital immediately. Their condition is stated to be out of danger. An inquiry has been ordered to ascertain how the accident took place.

The incident happened when the jawans were coming down from the helicopter with the support of the rope but as the rope detached, they fell on the ground. The incident took place on January 9th and was caught on camera.
Army Day is celebrated on 15 January every year in India, in recognition of Lieutenant General K. M. Cariappa’s taking over as the first Commander-in-Chief of the Indian Army from General Sir Francis Butcher, the last British Commander-in-Chief of India, on 15 January 1949.
