On behalf of the Indian Army, the official statement has been given on this matter. The Army has said that the three jawans who were injured in the January 9 accident were completely safe. The investigation has been initiated in this case. The army has described the technical defect of the helicopter as an important reason behind this incident.
The Indian Army celebrates Army Day in honor of Lieutenant General KM Cariappa, the first Commander-in-Chief of the Indian Army on January 15 every year. In fact, KM Cariappa assumed the charge on 15 January 1949 from General Roy Butcher, the last British Chief of the Indian Army (Commander in Chief, India) during the British Raj.
