Constable held for raping six-yr-old girl

Noida Police have arrested a constable posted at the Sales Tax department of Gautam Budh Nagar for allegedly raping a six-year-old girl neighbor at his flat, police said

A police officer investigating the case said the incident occurred in Surajpur village on Wednesday when the victim was alone at her home as her mother left for work. The accused constable of Uttar Pradesh police, identified as Subhash Singh (45), saw the victim alone, playing outside her home and took her forcibly in his one-room flat at around 3 pm on Wednesday, said police.

However, the incident was reported to police on Thursday morning at around 8.30 am after the angry mob of villagers caught the alleged accused police constable near his flat, thrashed him and handed over to police.

Police have lodged an FIR against Singh under Protection of Children against Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

“The victim has been sent to the district hospital at Noida’s Sector 30 for a medical test. We are waiting for the report,” Singh, Superintendent of police said
