Actor Surya was on Kochi to promote his latest film Thaana Serndha Kootam. He was asked when he would do a film in Malayalam. He said that he always loved the care and affection that he has received in Kerala. He said that language is a barrier that has forced him not to do a film in Malayalam. He added that as an actor he should know the language because only that will ensure he stays dedicated to the project.

He was also asked about his interest in politics. He was asked whether he would venture into politics. He replied by saying that he is not interested in the field and his social work would continue through his trust, Agharam Foundation, which helps socially and economically backward children pursue higher studies.
Thaana Serntha Kootam, directed by Vignesh Shivan, has a big cast including Karthik and Ranya Krishnan and he is paired opposite Keerthy Suresh. Anirudh has composed music for the film with Dinesh Krishnan does the camera and A Sreekar Prasad as the editor.
The movie release in theatres today.
