According to Hindustan Times, the woman said she and her husband, a freelance journalist, were going to purchase a Ganesha idol in August last year when the incident occurred. “I was standing near an empty auto when the Shiv Sena leader stopped his car and told me to come near him as I was alone. When I ignored him, he started to make lewd gestures and then began abusing me. When my husband intervened, he got down from his car and assaulted us. We also retaliated. He was under the influence of alcohol and I told his colleagues to take him away,” the complainant told the police.

The Shiv Sena leader then started to abuse the lady on a regular basis “On Friday, he stopped his car while I was drying clothes and made lewd gestures. I decided that was the limit,” she said. She then filed a molestation and threatening complaint with the Kashimira police. “We have registered a case. No arrests have been made so far,” said a Kashimira police officer.
