Tamil superstar Vikram turned emotional when he spoke about his father Vinod Raj who passed away two weeks ago.
He said, “Father struggled a lot and waited for so long, but he didn’t find good roles in movies. He was very handsome, maybe even better looking than I am. He really looked as stylish as a Hollywood actor. I just hope that his wishes got fulfilled through me.”
Vikram said that his late father was very passionate about acting.
“While I was talking to him about my role in Anniyan, he was busy watching TV. Suddenly he stopped me and said, ‘we will talk later.’ Father had done a small role in one of the serials that were running at that time…I saw his immense passion for acting that day,” said Vikram.
He said that his father always advised him to excel in his chosen fields.
He said, “Father always used to say that I should excel even if I was doing a menial job. That is how I began to concentrate more on dubbing than pursuing roles. I may be one of the few actors in Tamil who gives primary importance to voice and modulations. I have even dubbed actors like Abbas. But later I gave up dubbing as I thought that I would lose the uniqueness of my voice.”
