A fine of Rs 5,000 was imposed on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s office for not responding to a petition in the PIL seeking public prosecution. This is the action of the Lucknow High Court.
The High Court on Thursday directed the Prime Minister’s Office of about fine. The action was taken after the court did not respond to a public interest litigation.

The Prime Minister’s Office has not submitted an affidavit despite the court’s recommendation of Sunil Kandu. The court then proceeded to the punishment.
However, Additional Solicitor General SB Pandey had demanded more time for the government to give a reply but the court had allowed a three-week delay after fine. A Bench comprising Justice Sudhir Agarwal and Justice Abdul Moini was issued the fine.
