His thought brilliantly echoes the tussle involving filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s period drama Padmaavat. The film faced a nationwide protest and resistance from fringe groups demanding a ban on the release of the venture.
However, after braving all the odds, Padmaavat got a green signal from the Central Board Of Film Certification (CBFC) and will finally see the light of the day on January 25, 2018. After Rajasthan, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, and Haryana stalled the film release, the makers were left with no choice but to seek Supreme Court’s intervention. The SC ruled out in the favor of the film producers stating that no state has the right to impose a ban on the movie.
