The new Instagram feature now enable other users to know when you log into the app. This Instagram feature also allows others to know what you are doing on the app.Although this feature is switched on by default, it shows your friends how many hours ago you logged in, something that you may not want others to know. This means instead of telling the hours or minutes you have been online on Instagram for, it will only say ‘Active Now’.
This feature enables other to see what you are doing on the app. However, this is only visible to those who you follow. If they follow you too they will also be able to see the activity status.
Although this is a good way to keep a check on your friends, it might be irritating for the other party. Thankfully, it is easy to switch off this feature, keeping yourself away from those who are just waiting for you to go online.
So how do you get rid of this feature? Here’s a step-by-step guide:
– Open the Instagram app and tap on the corner gear or three dot icon to enter the Settings page.
– Scroll down and search for the “Show activity status” option.
– Toggle the option off and voila, you’re done.
