Based on the written complaint filed by Laxmi’s father Shyam Sundar, an murder case was filed against four men – Ankul Singh, Dharamveer Singh, Ravi Singh and Dinesh Singh, all brothers and cousin of Pankaj Yadav who got engaged on Sunday night with an Agra woman.

DSP Sanjay Kumar Reddy, CO Shikohabad who conducted raid at the home of the accused on Monday, said, “All the four are absconding, but we have initiated the process to terminate the gun license of Jagat Singh, the father of four accused, whose weapon was used to fire shots.”

Reddy said, “The four brothers engaged in a heated argument with their distant relative over a mere issue of borrowing motor-bike. The argument rose to such an extent that Ankul brought his father’s 12 bore gun and fired several shots. During the firing, a bullet hit a 11-year-old girl and injured two others. After the incident, all the attendees of the engagement party fled Darigpur village.”
