UAE declared that an Independent Human Rights Commission will be set up on the basis of Internationally accepted Paris principle.and that a comprehensive national human rights plan will be developed.
The announcements were made in a report submitted to the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva as part of the Universal Periodic Review process.
The report also gave a detailed description of the steps taken by UAE to curb human trafficking and also steps taken in the direction of upholding human rights.

The report was presented by State for Foreign Affairs Dr Anwar Gargash. He said that country will take steps to further enhancing the human rights in the country.
Among these will be the establishment of an independent national human rights commission on the basis of the Paris Principles, the formulation of a comprehensive national human rights plan that is updated in the light of new developments and is in line with local laws and the country’s international obligations and the promulgation of a federal law on domestic violence. Institutional and legislative measures and mechanisms will be adapted to provide greater protection for domestic workers and to strengthen their access to effective arbitration mechanisms.
The report also said that steps will be taken to further strengthen g the existing human rights rules in the country.
