WEF2018: its India’s time now; Bollywood actor hails PM Narendra Modi

At the WEF 2018, Narendra Modi had talked of his plans to boost the economic growth of India. His works are to be congratulated.

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the World Economic Forum in Davos. Khan, who received the received the Crystal award on Monday, said PM Modi attending the Davos meeting is a matter of pride for Indians. “Matter of pride for all of us that for the first time in 20 yrs we have a PM coming here,” said the actor. “PM said Hum yahan apne logon ka danka bajane aaye hain’ (PM Modi said that we have come here to carve a niche for ourselves here). He pointed out that globalization is losing sheen & India can become a hub of bringing it back, a lot of good points”, added Khan. PM Narendra Modi is the first Indian Prime Minister to attend Davos meeting in about 20 years since H D Deve Gowda in 1997.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi told top CEOs in Davos that India means business and presents an exciting opportunity for the global businesses. More than 130 participants from India attended the meeting of the rich and the powerful where the official sessions kicked off with the opening plenary address by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Meanwhile, Shah Rukh Khan also hailed the Magnetic Maharashtra project of the state government. The actor was accompanied by Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis. “I’m a living example of how someone can come to Mumbai & fulfill dreams. I always say I have two mothers – Delhi which gave birth to me & Maharashtra which helped me grow. New policies will create a digital environment, favorable to young India,” Khan was quoted as saying by ANI.

Meanwhile, CM Fadnavis during his three days at the global forum is likely to project the state as a business leader ahead of the crucial Magnetic Maharashtra: Convergence 2018 summit to be held in Mumbai from February 18-20. Fadnavis is likely to unveil Maharashtra’s roadmap to achieving its target of becoming a “trillion dollar economy”. At present, Maharashtra has a 400 billion dollar economy, according to the CM. “Through investment summit, we’re bringing forward Maharashtra as an investment destination. We are trying to work in new areas bcoz time is changing. We are unveiling new FinTech policy & focusing on Industries 4.0. It will change businesses,” said CM Fadnavis.
