“BJP doesn’t understand English”, mocks Congress

Karnataka minister Ramalinga Reddy on Saturday mocked BJP by saying that BJP doesn’t understand English. It was in relation to the opposition raised by BJP regarding a letter written by the state DGP inviting opinion on withdrawing cases against ‘innocent’ people belonging to minority community.

“BJP doesn’t understand English properly. It’s not circular, just a reminder. Minority leaders represented that some false cases registered against minorities. IG sent letter to SPs, gave reminder that’s all,” said Reddy.

It was reported on a leading National paper that DGP of Karnataka had sent a letter marked “urgent” and a reminder, written on 22.12.2017 and 02.01.2018, respectively, to SPs and commissioners of different districts. The letter and its subsequent reminder had sought opinion on withdrawing cases against ‘innocent’ people belonging to minority community who had allegedly participated in the communal riots in the last five years.

BJP said that this action by the Government will create insecurity among majority.

“It is clearly mentioned that only cases filed against the minority community will be withdrawn. It would further create insecurity among the majority community which is facing the wrath of the police. It is a wrong on the part of the government to take sides and it will be opposed tooth and nail,” said BJP leader Rajesh Nayak.

karnataka has seen several riots in the last few months owing to the death of a youth named Paresh Mehta.

BJP accused that several innocent people belonging to the majority community have been apprehended by the Karnataka Government.
