In a good news to smartphone lovers, Samsung has announced the name of its next flagship smartphone. It is named Samsung Galaxy 9 which is expected to hit stores during the first quarter itself. The date of its launch is February 25.
This is the first time Samsung has publically acknowledged the name of the upcoming flagship smartphone.
“In the first quarter, the company expects the mobile business to improve its earnings, led by an increase in sales of flagship products with the launch of Galaxy S9,” it says.
The name has been revealed in its earnings report.
The name S9 doesn’t come as a surprising one since its last flagship Galaxy phone was named Galaxy S8. So the name S9 was always expected unless Samsung liked to rebrand it.

In fact, the company itself confirmed the existence of the Galaxy S9 in the official press invite, complete with the large number 9.
The success of S9 matters a lot to Samsung since the company saw a drop in its sales during the fourth quarter and brand like Redmi making inroads in India.
Samsung is expected to announce the Galaxy S9, alongside the Galaxy S9+ at the Mobile World Congress on February 25 in Barcelona. Both phones are expected to be a little upgrade over S8. The highlight of these phones will be the camera and the new Isocell image sensor chip which promises to offer better low-light performance.
