Mumbai: fire in 3 industrial areas, blaze doused

When constructing an industrial or commercial building of sort, care should be given to protect the structure from fire.  

A fire broke out at an industrial estate in suburban Mulund on Saturday late night.  A Control Room official said that the there was no report of injuries to anyone, adding that eight fire engines and an equal number of water tankers had been deployed to douse the fire.

Meanwhile, in neighboring Thane, firefighters brought a raging fire under control at a godown in Bhiwandi’s Mankoli Naka area. Fire teams from Bhiwandi, Ulhasnagar, Badlapur, and Kalyan were engaged in the fire operations. There are no casualties, officials said.

On another note, a fire broke out during the early hours of Monday at a furniture factory in Akola, Maharashtra. Three fire tenders rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control. Fire Officer Ramesh Thackeray told a national news agency, “Three of our vehicles have made 15 to 20 trips and the fire is in control now.” Thackeray informed that the loss of property is estimated to be in crores as some expensive electrical appliances were housed in the factory.
