UP engages in strict measures to curb malpractices during exams

Exams- a time period that some breeze through, while others are under pressure. Also when teachers and faculties are on alert for cheating and other illegal activities.

The numbers of students who are skipping the board exams in Uttar Pradesh have crossed 6 lakh. The numbers of students who have not attended the exam over the past three days are increasing. The board exams for 10th and 12th had begun on Tuesday.

An estimate of 1.9 Lakh students had missed the exam on the opening day. The number raised sharply around 5 lakhs on the second day. The reason for students opting to not attend the exams is due to the strict measures implied by the school authorities to curb cheating during exams.

In Hardoi district alone 31000 students have opted not to attend the exams which are the highest number of students opted out of the exams. This was the same case in Azamgarh district.

Cheating is commonly done during exams in UP. The authorities have installed surveillance cameras and urged the help of Special Task Forces(STF) to prevent unlawful practices.

Around 66 lakh students applied for Class 10 and 12 board exams in UP this year.
