Dates of Lok Sabha Bybolls election in the states of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar has been declared. Election s will be held on March 11 on Phulpur and Gorakhpur seats in Uttar Pradesh and Araria, Bhabua and Jehanabad seats in Bihar. The results will be declared on March 14.
The Gorakhpur seat in Uttar Pradesh was earlier held by Yodi Adyatnath whereas Phulpur by Keshav Prasad Maurya. Both seats became vacant as these two were elected to UP’s Legislative Council during the last year’s Uttar Pradesh State election.

Gorakhpur is considered as a bastion of BJP which they are winning since 1991 whereas Phulpur which once considered to be a Congress stronghold was won by Maurya in 204. BJP is confident of not only winning these seats but also improving their victory margin.
The last day for filing nomination will be on February 20 whereas February 23 is the last day for the withdrawal of candidature, announced Election commission.
