The report says that ‘Manikya Malaraya Poovi’, when translated into English, is blasphemy and insults the Prophet. The film is directed by Omar Lulu and the guy who is seen flirting with Priya in the video is Roshan. Roshan was one of the finalists of a reality show D4 Dance. Oru Adaar Love is a story about high school teenage romance and consists of 5 heroes and heroines.

The song sung by filmmaker Vineeth Srinivasan is being loved by millions, and it is primarily for Varrier’s adorable expressions. And in the song, the group seen performing on stage is the Chumaduthangi band and Jubair, who is also a singer in real life. Shaan Rahman is the music composer for the film.

Priya Varrier’s expressions in the song ‘’ from the film ‘’ have caught the fancy of the nation. The complainants said the picturisation of the song itself, whether it was Priya Prakash Varrier, or any other, was objectionable because the lyrics were linked to the Prophet’s life.

Adnan Qamar, a Hyderabad man also went live on FB and explained that the expressions were an insult to the lyrics. “It is sad that the filmmaker himself is a Muslim and almost the entire cast is Muslim but still such objectionable picturistaion has been shown in the film,” Anand Qamar has said in a video that has also gone viral.

He also posted the lyrics of the song and the English translation for people to understand. The objection is about the expressions and not the song or the lyrics.

The translated lyrics read: “A woman like the Pearl flower her highness-khatija beebi in the holy City of Mecca she lived like a queen…” Pointing this out, Muzakkir Ali who responded on Adnan Qamar’s video agreed with him saying, “Great words but the direction is absolutely wrong.”

In a written complaint to the Falaknuma police, the complainants said the picturisation of the song hurt the sentiments of the Muslim community. The complaint was filed with signatures of at least 57 people with their telephone numbers, and addresses provided to the police. “It is not acceptable for us to see a romantic song picturised on some actors with lyrics of the song linked to the Prophet,” Mohd Abdul, an engineering student in Hyderabad who lodged the complaint with the police told.

The police is expected to register an FIR on Wednesday. Mohd Abdul said he really had no objection to also acting in the movie. “We do not like the picturisation. That’s it,” he said. Mohd Abdul said he had also contacted the Kerala police taking the issue to their notice and they had advised him to lodge a complaint with the local police in Hyderabad if they had any objection to the song.
