Congress MLA’s son who beat up youth surrenders to Police

As the incident is gaining steam in the sate with both BJP and JDS making it a huge issue, Karnataka Congress legislator N.A. Haris’s son and state youth Congress leader Mohammed Nalapad surrendered to police on Monday in the assault case.

 

“Nalapad surrendered to us at the Cubbon Park police station where a case was booked against him for allegedly assaulting and severely injuring a youth in a cab on Saturday night,” police sub-inspector K. Suresh said to media.

He came to the police station with a lawyer to seek bail when produced to the court. Police have informed that they have taken his biometrics and said that they will seek his custody to investigate. FIR for murder has been charged against him on the view that the victim has lost a lot of blood.

The case is that Nalappad beat up Vidvat, 24, at Fergy Cafe in the upscale UB City Mall. Following the incident, he was expelled from the party’s primary membership for 6 years. He was also removed from the state Youth Congress.

 

Protests were staged by the BJP workers, BJP and JDS who even clashed with the Congress workers over the incident.
