Gujarat municipal polls : BJP strikes again with tremendous victory
The Bharathiya Janatha Party strikes again with its continous winning performance in the municipal polls in Gujarat, maintaining the same tally of seats this time around.
BJP won in 47 of 75 municipalities this time.
The Congress, however, improved its tally from the 2013 elections to 16 wins this time. It had won 13 municipalities in the last election.

BJP has won 47, Congress has won 16, NCP 1 and BSP 1, 6 no one got majority and independents got 4 .
Out of 2060 seats, BJP won 1167 seats, Congress won 630 seats, BSP won 15, NCP won 28 seats, other parties won 18 seats while independents won 202 seats.
Though the Congress has improved their seats, it is not enough to rule. The polling was held in 75 local municipalities, two district panchayats, 17 taluks and 1400 gram panchayats.
