BJP does not believe in the politics of religion,says Narendra Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Christian-dominated Meghalaya said that his party do not believe in the politics of religion. 

Addressing an election rally in Phulbari in Garo hills on Thursday Modi said, “Terrorism is threatening the world. We do not believe in the politics based on religion, caste. India’s stature across the world has gone up.” 

He pointed out how the government acted when 46 nurses from Kerala where taken hostage by ISIS in Iraq. “They were daughters of this country, we ensured that these girls returned to their families safely,” he said.

In Meghalaya, BJP is being attacked as anti-Christian by its political opponents. 

Modi added, “In Afghanistan Father Alexis Prem Kumar, who was preaching peace and God’s message was kidnapped by terrorist. After 18 months we were able to bring him back to India.

The prime minister narrated that Judith D’Souza a woman from West Bengal working for the church in Afghanistan was kidnapped by terrorist. “After almost one month we were able to bring her back,” he said. He also talked about how Father Tom Uzhunnalil, a priest from Kottayam in Kerala, was rescued from IS. 

Urging people to vote for change in Meghalaya, Modi said, “We believe in Sabka Sath, Sabka Vikas. “ Despite sending huge amount of money from New Delhi Meghalaya had remained under developed. There is hardly any road, where has the money gone,” he questioned.
