Counting of votes is taking place in the Bijepur Assembly seat in Odisha. As per the latest result, Biju Janata Dal has accumulated a massive lead over its two rivals BJP and Congress.
Around 72 per cent voting was recorded in the bypoll, according to state Chief Electoral Officer Surendra Kumar.
The seat was earlier held by Congress leader Subal Sahu who died last year which necessitated the election.

Subal Sabu’s wife Rita Sahu has been fielded this time by the BJD, while Ashok Panigrahi is nominated by the BJP, and Pranay Sahu by the Congress.
