At Ambernath-Titwala Road near Mumbai, a man was shot dead and his girlfriend was allegedly raped by a robber. He also fled with their mobile phones and a two-wheeler. Ganesh Dinkar, who worked as a chef at a Chinese mall went for a long drive with his girlfriend. Near a hillock, the man stopped the bike to answer nature call.
Suddenly, the robber approached them and threatened them with a gun, demanding that they hand over their cash and phones. When they refused, the robber shot Ganesh and allegedly raped his girlfriend.

An officer from Titwala police station said: “While the man entered the bush, his girlfriend waited near the bike. It was here that a man caught her hand. He came running to his girlfriend’s rescue and asked the man to leave her. But the accused threatened to shoot him if they did not give him their valuables and money.”
A passer-by dropped woman to a police station and a case has been filed under section 302 (murder) of the IPC and the Arms Act, 1959.
