The French Government is looking to introduce a law which will make sex below the age of 15 illegal.This is after the widespread shock in two cases involving 11-year-old girls.
At present, there is no law in France that prohibits sex between individuals below a particular age as illegal.

The government’s women’s affairs office said Tuesday that it has decided to set the threshold at 15 in a bill to be presented to parliament later this month. Earlier, officials had discussed setting it at 13. President Emmanuel Macron, among others, argued for it to be older.
In recent times there were legal cases regarding adult men having sex with girls of age 11 which are considered consenting under the French laws.
