Hate Story is one of the most successful franchises in the erotic revenge thriller genre and that is evident from the box office collections of its previous instalments.
Director Vishal Pandya says, “The film is inspired by real incidents that made headlines. The hatred you will feel while watching it is triggered by real life incidents which the film takes inspiration from. It is based on issues that are happening around us and affect women. We always hear people speaking about taking action against the issue, but this film will see us taking a step against it.”
The franchise is clearly special to the filmmaker, who has directed the second and third films in the series. “The Hate Story franchise is the most loved and is close to my heart. We always work on surprising the audience with something newer than previous films,” Vishal says, adding, “Hate Story films have been made on medium budget and the returns have always been very good. What helps the Hate Story IV tremendously is that it is slick. Its musical score and picturesque song locations with the right dosage of erotica add to its appeal. All Hate Story songs have been chartbusters and the tracks in the new film are no less.”
