BJP leader reacts on TDP’s decision to leave NDA alliance

The Bharatiya Janata Party has launched an attack against the TDP soon after TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu decided to withdraw from the NDA. Naidu, who also asked TDP ministers to resign from the Union Cabinet, has been severely criticised by BJP leader Krishna Sagar Rao for his ‘political opportunism’.

According to the BJP leader, Naidu’s claim that the NDA government was not supporting Andhra Pradesh is a blatant lie. “BJP believes what has happened tonight is a classic case of political opportunism and a case of compulsive politics. Chandrababu Naiduji’s statement that Central govt is not standing up to support Andhra Pradesh is a blatant lie,” said Rao.

Chandrababu Naidu, who is also the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh, had instructed TDP ministers Ashok Gajapathi Raju and YS Chowdary to resign their posts as Union Ministers soon after Arun Jaitley told that Andhra Pradesh cannot be conferred with a special status. Jaitley also said that the NDA government will, however, help the state under a special package. He said,”We are willing to satisfy every condition. The only variation is that after Finance Commission report instead of formally calling it a special category state, we are calling it a special package, which gives same monetary benefits that a special category state gives you.”

It must be noted that Chandrababu Naidu had earlier hinted that the only reason behind BJP-TDP alliance was the promise of special category status for the state.
