Arya’s Enga Veetu Mapillai (EVM) reality show’s grand finale came to an end on April 17th (2018) with a lot of fanfare. This show was based on the concept of finding the right soulmate for Arya, who is among the eligible bachelors in the Kollywood.
On the D-day (day to choose soulmate), there were a lot of expectations as to who would become Arya’s life partner. The other contestants like Abarnathi, Devasurya and Naveena, who had exited from the show in the previous rounds, also joined in the celebrations on the final day.
when the D-day arrived Arya could not zero in the ideal life partner for him. He selected neither of these 3 girls, quoting various reasons. One of the reasons that Arya gave was , “I am not ready to hurt any of the other 2 contestants by choosing 1 girl and leaving out the other 2 girls. More than a day to rejoice for the life partner whom I may select, it might become a day of a huge shock for the other 2 girls. I am not ready to take such a painful decision on a stage like this. If I take the final call today, it might be a very frustrating day for the parents also and the families of the other 2 girls, whom I may have to leave out”.
Arya also said, “I shortlisted Susana, Agatha and Seetha and visited their house to interact with their parents and family members. But, I still feel that I should spend more time with these three girls on a personal level before making the final decision. Because, this is not just about my life alone, it also involves considerations of parents and family members from both the sides. After further considerations, I would reveal the name of my soulmate name very soon”.
The actor’s decision not to marry anybody who came in the final was a disturbing audience. The criticism from the start of the program was that this was just a publicity stunt and that Arya was not going to marry anyone.
At last after all the controversies Arya reveals the real truth. The actor even told the show organisers that he can’t choose anyone and he is thinking marriage is troublesome. So he made a contract statement like if he is having any interest in anyone really he will marry if not he won’t. He made this statement before the start of the show. So he is telling that he didn’t cheat anyone and it is difficult for him to choose anyone from the three contestants.
