Central Govt withdraws security cover to Hardik Patel
The Central government withdrawn the security cover given to PAAS leader Hardik Patel. The decision was taken on the basis of a security assessment.
An MHA official said the decision was taken following a review of Hardik Patel’s security by the Intelligence Bureau which, in a report, said there was no threat to the PAAS leader.
Hardik Patel had been given Y + security cover in November 2017 based on an assessment done back then. According to sources, the decision to withdraw the security was taken by the Home Ministry. The same has been conveyed to the CISF officials for further action.
As part of his security, he was guarded by 8 CISF commandos. The security was in place while he was campaigning against for the Gujarat assembly elections held last year.
