Yedyurappa says he pardoned Janardhana Reddy

With election dates fast approaching in Karnataka, Yeddyurappa seems very tactful with his use of words.

In an interview on Thursday, he said that he had pardoned Janardhanaa Reddy, the mining baron, in the broader interest of the state. He said that it is not just Reddy, but many others have wronged him in the past and he is forgiving them all.

Yeddyurappa said that his party is banking on Sreeramalu to win elections in Ballari and neighbour districts and denied the allegations of the party giving tickets to people at Reddy’s pleasure. He added that on the issue of whether Sreeramalu can be the deputy, the decision is not yet taken.

The BJP’s chief minister candidate brushed aside the talks of Veerasaiva-Lingayat community being discontent with his son not getting a seat in Varuna. He felt that it is just a ploy from congress to create a rift among the communities, which will backfire. He said that BJP will come back in to power despite the election poll results that predicts a congresss win
