A facelifted version of the Hyundai i20 Active has come out hot on the heels of the 2018 Elite i20. The latter was launched at the 2018 Auto Expo and is the first major update for the premium hatchback in this second generation.
The biggest change is the latest version of the cascade grille which dominates the face while the star-shaped fuel filler cap has been replaced by a conventional one.
The cabin remains unchanged from the outgoing model except for some new trim colours including a new optional blue and black combination with blue accents as a part of the package.

The European market will get the i20 Active with a 1.0-litre turbocharged unit in two states of tune. The lower spec 98bhp version can be had with a five-speed manual while the more powerful 118bhp state of tune gets a six-speed manual or a seven-speed DCT.
There’s also a 1.2-litre version that gets a five-speed manual as well as a turbocharged 1.4-litre unit that is only offered with a six-speed manual. Depending on the variant you get lane departure warning, lane assist, high beam assist and forward collision warning.
This is the i20 Active that will come to India but sans most of the driver warning systems and a 1.0-litre engine. Ours will instead continue with the 1.2-litre petrol and 1.4-litre diesel motor.
