Around 7 am on Saturday in Bhandup West, Mumbai, two people died as the wall and roof of a community toilet collapsed. The dead are identified as Lobaben Jethava(42) and Babulal Devji(45). There were a few others under the debris, but they were successfully rescued by the fire personnel brigade. Lobaben and Babulal were rushed into the hospital, but they died on the way.

Fireman with the help of National Disaster Response Force personal pulled the victims out of the septic tank. The assistance of officials of sewerage and drainage department of the BMC was also sought.
Akhilesh Singh, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Zone VII said that a case of accidental death is registered and further investigation into the reason for the collapse was initiated.
